Big kids can have fun doing a graphing slope intercept form activity too. Isn’t it fun to draw a bunch of lines on a graph and make something out of them?
One graphing slope intercept form activity I’ve done was to have students draw an object on a graph. Next, they drew a line through the object and found the slope form for the line. Then students traded papers and completed their partner’s graphing slope intercept form worksheet. This could be done for any holiday or season. Even though they didn’t always want to admit it, my 8th grade students always loved an opportunity to color or have a fun theme.

When looking for graphing slope intercept activities I thought it would be fun for lines to go through an object to color. With Valentines day right around the corner this worked out perfectly.
In this graphing slope intercept form worksheet, students graph the lines using slope form. If done correctly their line will go through one of the pictures on the graph. Students then color in the picture with the labeled color. This is an easy assignment to make self grading. The answer key to the graphing slope intercept form worksheet can be drawn on a plastic sheet protector then students place on top to check their work.
It’s good for students to practice solving slope intercept form both ways, being able to graph it and being able to write the equation from looking at the line. These graphing slope intercept activities helped my students master both concepts in a fun way.
