I found this as a great activity to use with students who were in the response to Intervention (RTI) process.
Another nonsense word fluency for blends and digraphs activity I created was task cards with nonsense words on them for students to practice blending. I created 4 cards that say “bang” to use as a game as well. This was a great intervention for students who needed specific phonics practice with a certain blend or digraph.
For more examples on how to use this for IEP goals or Response to Intervention, check out my blog post on Nonsense Word Fluency with Blends and Digraphs.
Another important part of reading instruction is sight word practice. Check out Amanda’s (author of Sparkling in Primary) post on kindergarten sight words for some great engaging activity ideas.
